White-headed Vulture chick named

On Thursday 9 March a tiny, fluffy White-headed Vulture chick joined our team and we are now pleased to announce that we have named it Severus.

Our naming theme for all new birds this year is Harry Potter and we think this name is perfect for a vulture as they really are a hero when it comes to keeping a clean and healthy ecosystem, yet they don’t always make the best first impression!

Over the past three months it has been diligently cared for by parents, Angus and Satara. The family are still living at the top of our grounds and you can now regularly see it as it pops it’s head above the nest and even perches toward the edge of it.
