Our new hospital annex

If you’ve visited us this year, you won’t have been able to miss the building works taking place on site, next to our National Bird of Prey Hospital™. Here we’re constructing an annex to the hospital, made possible with the help of very generous donations from Animal Friends Pet Insurance and Life Members Graham and Rita Morgan. This project will expand our facilities and allow us to improve our biosecurity measures.

The new annex will be self-contained, allowing us to ensure impeccable biosecurity measures between wild birds and birds in our team. It will also contain:

• An assessment room where we can check-in new patients to our care
• A kitchen where we can prepare food and medication
• Six new treatment bays where wild birds can be housed while we’re looking after them. As and when their condition improves, we’ll be able to move them outside to one of our existing rehabilitation aviaries

We’ve been very excited to watch the construction of this annex progress and are looking forward to opening it, hopefully in early 2022. Watch this space for more details!
