Frequently asked questions

How should I save my images?

All photos should be saved as JPEGs and should be saved with no punctuation in the filename. Please do not add copyright details to your image

My image fits into more than one category; can I enter it into both?

No, you can only enter an image once and in one category.

I took a brilliant photo last year, can I enter it now?

No, all photos entered into the 2016 Photographic Competition must have been captured in 2016.

You’ve asked me to send my images via wetransfer, can’t I just email them?

No, we ask you to send your images via wetransfer because this allows you to send images at high resolution, without worrying about whether your email system or our email system can handle the file sizes.

How do I use wetransfer?

To use wetransfer, go to www.wetransfer.com and simply click on Add files. You can then select the files you wish to send to us by adding them all at once or, if the files are not all in the same place, you can click Add files as many times as you need until all the files are listed. Our email address should be pre-filled; if it isn't, just enter keith@hawkconservancy.org where it says Friend's email. Enter your own email address where it says Your email. In the space below that, you can enter any message you want to send, or just leave it blank.
Click Transfer once you are happy that you have added all of your images and that you have filled the necessary fields. It may take a few minutes for your images to upload and send, but you don't need to do anything else. You will receive an email from wetransfer confirming safe receipt of your files, and you will receive another email from wetransfer to tell you when we have downloaded them.

I’m still having issues, can you help?

Of course! Please contact marketing@hawkconservancy.org or call 01264 773850.
